Heavy rains poured as the North eastern launch
went underway in Mbale on a night that a one Bad man proved
to be a real threat for the Eastern Artist of the year 2006
PAM Awards. The venue was virtually turned into a swamp but
this did not stop the sons and daughters of Masaba from having
fun!
Revelers who turned up in their hundreds
started trickling in as soon as the gates were opened at about
6:00pm. About 8:00 Pm the infinity dancers were unleashed
on to the stage so much to the satisfaction of pop lovers.
Eastern artists like Senior scorpion, Champion
vibes, Sam Ckeze, Termite Gwen, Eng Kateregga, Lady Demarix
and Mark P were at what they know best. The language was music,
fun and food were just supplements in their quantities that
they all most threatened to carry the day.
Juliet Mugirwa unleashed her new Gospel single
Mumiafu a Lumasaba song that addresses the enormity of HIV/AIDS
and commends the ABC strategy of fighting AIDS.
Also available on the night’s juicy menu
was Fina Mugerwa of the Masanyalaze fame, Desire Kiwanuka,
Alpha, the Obsessions girls, Karim saava of the Mabete fame,
General Megga Dee and the Muko of the east Bebe Cool. Together,
the musicians kept the revelers on their toes as they braved
the rain that would have stopped an average party but not
this one.
There was real fun when a musician went with
his lover on stage but her performance seemed to out do his
so much to the disappointment of the “star” lover.
Time Check, 2:00 Am and the next stop for
the PAM Awards Launch is Nairobi May 27th. Trust me to keep
you posted on this, the official PAM Awards website.
